At Haven Behavioral Hospital we work closely with each patient to make financial arrangements before, during, and after treatment. Professional and polite account representatives are always available to answer your billing and insurance questions.

Verifying Insurance Coverage

A patient account representative from the hospital’s admitting office will verify your insurance coverage. You, your family, or referral source will be asked for insurance information, including:

Name

Billing Address

Telephone Number(s)

Most of this information can be found on your insurance I.D. card. Please remember to bring your card with you when you come to the hospital.

Managed Care Pre-Certification

If you belong to a managed care plan, you may need a second opinion, prior approval or pre-certification before being admitted to the hospital. In some cases, managed care plans will not pay for hospital costs if you do not pre-certify that the service is covered. Please check with your managed care company to see what is required. Make sure you keep a record of the date, time and person you spoke with at your managed care company.

Self-pays & Co-pays

It is our policy to collect any estimated self-pay balances or co-pays at the time of admission. Your patient account representative will let you know how much you will be expected to pre-pay. The hospital accepts cash, check or credit card.

Patients without Insurance

If you don’t have medical insurance, we will help you calculate an estimated payment. The estimated fee is due upon admission, however you may receive a credit or further charges after your hospital stay
